TCEDC Newsletter - Sharks and March Madness!

Dear Friends and Partners,

Spring is coming, and with it comes exciting news that promises to elevate the economic landscape of Tuscarawas County. We are thrilled to announce a major development that will not only create opportunities for our community but also contribute to the growth and innovation of our region. Before we get into the economic development stuff, we congratulate the Kent State Tuscarawas Golden Eagles Men's Basketball team for another impressive year as one of the nation's top Division II basketball programs. Schaeffler to Bring 450 Jobs to Dover with New EV Component Manufacturing Facility

While our local team continues to impress on the court, we are proud to share that Schaeffler, a global automotive and industrial supplier, has chosen Dover, OH, as the location for its new Electric Vehicle (EV) component manufacturing facility. This groundbreaking initiative will bring 450 new jobs to our community at an average payroll of $60k annually, fostering economic prosperity and technological advancement. The decision reflects Schaeffler's confidence in Tuscarawas County's talent and potential, and we look forward to welcoming them as key players in our vibrant business community. JP Nauseef, President and CEO of JobsOhio, and Lt. Governor Jon Husted recently spoke about the State of Ohio’s strategic positioning of small towns for big projects at the JobsOhio quarterly board meeting. Husted brought up a recent visit to the Buckeye Career Center and how all economic things are connected.

To celebrate this momentous occasion, we invite you to stay tuned for upcoming events and announcements as we work closely with Schaeffler to integrate seamlessly into our community.
