Enhancing Leadership and Engagement Through Training

The Tuscarawas County Economic Development Corporation (TCEDC) staff actively embraces education and leadership programs to enhance their expertise and effectiveness. Through membership and participation in the Ohio Economic Development Association's Basic Course, they gain foundational knowledge for economic development initiatives. Advancing their credentials further, they pursue the Ohio Economic Development Association Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) certification, which signifies a high level of competence and dedication to the field. Additionally, their involvement in Leadership Tuscarawas with Kent State at Tuscarawas strengthens their leadership skills and deepens their understanding of local community dynamics.

Participation in the Broadband Ohio Community Accelerator demonstrates TCEDC's commitment to enhancing digital infrastructure, which is critical for modern economic growth. As members of the Ohio Council of Port Authorities and the East Ohio Development Association, they collaborate with key stakeholders to drive regional development initiatives. The Appalachian Regional Commission's Appalachian Leadership Institute provides insights into addressing unique challenges in the Appalachian region, while Civic Lab offers a collaborative approach to workforce development and problem-solving. Moreover, their affiliation with the Council of Development Finance Agencies (CDFA) and the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) ensures they stay abreast of best practices and emerging trends in economic development finance and strategy.

It is the mission of the TCEDC to continuously work to build capacity and knowledge of economic development for board members, community leaders, and other stakeholders. They plan to achieve this by bringing legal and financial experts in economic growth to provide specialized training sessions. These sessions are designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to navigate the complexities of economic development projects effectively. By fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development, the TCEDC’s strategic objective is to ensure that all involved are well-prepared to contribute to the county's economic growth and prosperity.
